Football, American football, is the top sport in our home. We love the fall season for the cooler weather, yes, but we really love it because it’s football season. My husband played football for Texas A&M back in the good ol’ Southwest Conference day when Texas A&M reigned supreme. We had the chance to attend a reunion several years ago with his former teammates who shared a few SWC championships together.
Texas A&M is like no other school that I’ve known when it comes to cheering on a team. Kyle Field, where the Aggies play, has got to be the most intimidating locale for the visiting team to play. The energy and excitement is electrifying. Not only that, you feel like family….you feel like you’re a part of something big. That must be the draw to the fans. Even when the team is not playing well, there’s lots of fun to be had. Just be careful when half your family attended the school your team is playing against. (Thankfully, Aggies have moved to the SEC which prevents a lot of these family spats.)
